Back in late 2022, I was approached by my guy Nylles with an idea for another one of our collaborative projects - pairing one of the most innovative producers in recent memory, Kaytranada, with arguably the most dynamic artist of our generation, Beyoncé. We worked on it for a while but eventually it was decided to go separate ways on the project, but that concept was one that I found myself sitting with over time as I began to make more and more blended records.

Earlier this year “Cowboy Carter” hit the streets and after seeing how a transition I did live at a function rang off for the people, I decided to see what ways I could come up with something different with the songs. Two hours in my studio office and a couple finished records in, and the foundation for #KOWBOYKAYTRA was laid, and I found myself with arguably some of the best work I’ve done to date.

Kaytranada is a huge North Star in the sound of modern dance music over the last 10-15 years, and Beyonce is Beyonce, full stop. I know there’s been unreleased records out there but here’s hoping that something official comes from the two of them soon. Until then, I made this EP with the hope hope that it gives DJs and dancers alike some much needed energy in clubs and functions the world over. Hope you all enjoy them as much as I enjoyed coming up with them, and I look forward to running these up live in a party near you.
